When you first contact our service as an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse, you will be offered either an informal meeting or an assessment appointment.
The assessment involves one of the team spending about an hour with you to gather a brief history and give you further information about SALT. Part of the purpose of this is to ensure that our work with you is carried out in a safe manner, as well as supporting you to make informed choices. The assessment is a chance for both you and us to decide if SALT is the best way ahead for you. If we feel that you would be best served by accessing a different type of supporting service then we will talk to you about it at this assessment.
If a decision is taken that you will proceed to having sessions with SALT you will be asked to sign a contract commitment to your therapy and our Code of Practice will be explained to you.
